The year was 2006 and The Michael J. Fox Foundation created Team Fox the grassroots fundraising arm of the foundation. I was already involved with The Michael J. Fox Foundation, but the Team Fox initiative enabled and empowered people like myself to make a valuable, tangible contribution to help end Parkinson’s disease.
My Mom is the reason why Tips for Parkinson’s started in 2006, but my commitment extends beyond my mother, but for my Team Fox friends who are also living with Parkinson’s disease.
Since the start of Tips for Parkinson’s we have built awareness and raised nearly $2 million in funding for The Michael J. Fox Foundation. In those 11-years the disease that keeps taking from those inflicted has given me so much more. It has given me an increasing number of friends with Parkinson’s, that inspire me every day to do more for them, my Mother and the caretakers whose role is sometimes forgotten, but so important.
Tips for Parkinson’s brings people together and together will be the way we put an end of this disease. As Michael J. Fox has said, “When the cure for Parkinson’s is found – and it will be – it will be because of all of us, working together.”
Members of Team Bid Wanted have been tipping it back since 2006. Captain Joe Triolo and Paul Murphy along with team members Matthew Bryne, Gary Guinta, David Isaac, David Lignon Miller, Thomas Moore, and John Young have raised over $100,000 for The Michael J. Fox Foundation. Three orange jackets, Bid Wanted will get behind the bar one last time.
Three orange jackets BAC Bulls have raised over $120,000 for The Michael J. Fox Foundation with the support of Bank of America matching many of their donors. Initially captained by Lou Diamond (now the Tips MC) and now by Gregory Ingrassia both captains take raising awareness and funds seriously due to family and friends who are living with Parkinson’s. Lou and Greg are supported by amazing team members. Joe Tarditi who has a personal tie to Parkinson’s, has supported Tips not only behind the bar but donating to the silent auction with Eagles tickets and memorabilia. The roster is deep with bartending talent with Greg Ingrassia, Gary Pierre, and Fey Oshinkanlu.

Sister’s Fighting Parkinson’s
Sister’s Fighting Parkinson’s started with the Bilotta Twins, Joan Harris and Julie Bilotta and a family friend, Beth Demba, coming together as “sisters” in support of driving awareness and putting an end to this debilitating disease. The team recruited other “sisters” to the fight in the cause – Danielle McCann, Elizabeth Dwyer, Molly WIlkie, and Alyssa Drews.
